MA Football Combine = a Huge Success!

Massachusetts Football Coaches Association Combine Recap: Certified Nasty

Athletic Standard had the honor of being a part of the Massachusetts’ High School Football Coaches Association combine at Gillette Stadium this past weekend!  One thing was made very clear: there is talent to be found in Massachusetts. With over 300 participants, this behemoth of an event was hands down one of the most efficient and well run events Athletic Standard has been associated with.  Everything from initial planning, execution to wrap-up was first rate.  I had the pleasure of working directly with Fred Kirsch of the Patriots and Charlie Stevenson of Xaverian in the weeks leading up to the event and it was clear they were committed to providing a first rate combine experience for all the athletes and coaches involved.  Their goal was about showcasing the talent among the top Massachusetts football players, as well as providing an excellent combine experience for them.

One Company, Two Initiatives

Athletic Standard, What Do We Do?

The National Fitness Assessment Program (NFAP) and the National Athletic Accreditation Program (NAAP).  Although the NFAP and the NAAP are very different, these two initiatives branch off from the same goal: help kids. Both programs are based off of 3 basic tests, the vertical jump, the pro-agility, and the ten yard dash.  However, depending on the system a school or coach wants to go with, we can get dozens of data points that specifically help their programs!

Female Knee Injuries - an Epidemic?

Why are Women more Susceptible to Knee Injuries than Men?

In 2012, four of the 15 players on Bentley University’s women’s basketball squad suffered from season ending ACL injuries.  That is over 25% of their team! They lost starters and a other key players, and their once promising season was derailed by the epidemic of ACL injuries.  Their season’s turn of unfortunate events highlights a growing problem for female athletes, a problem that has not been addressed properly.

How Hard Is It To Get Recruited?

The mission of Athletic Standard, Inc. is to aid students and coaches in finding the correct match for four years of success. The process is often time consuming, complicated and expensive.  Yet many non-coaches or athletes understand the process and the hassle associated with the process. Checkout this link below that illustrates the struggle many athletes experience. http://www.collegesportsscholarships.com/
